The Thea Stoneman Breast Imaging and Diagnostic Center at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital provides a patient-centered approach to breast cancer detection, prevention, patient and staff education, research and treatment, making it one of the leading centers for breast health care in New England and in the country.

In the decades since its establishment in 1971, the Breast Imaging and Diagnostic Center, recently named in honor of Thea Stoneman, has cared for well over 100,000 patients. What makes our program unique, however, is not the number of patients seen, but the exceptional care they receive every day.

In order to continue providing the highest quality of care possible, the center relocated from its Belkin House to a state-of-the-art facility on the fifth floor of the main hospital at BWFH in October 2022.

In the new space, screening/diagnostic mammography, bone density testing and procedures like biopsy and radioactive seed placement take place in one convenient location designed with patients in mind.

NOTE: Please arrange for appropriate supervision of your child during your visit. Children under twelve must not be left unattended in the waiting area. Staff are not permitted to supervise children at any time.
