Patient Testimonials
In their own words, our patients tell us how much you care
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
My nurse, Ginny Ryan, was awesome! She explained things clearly and in an easy to understand language and manner. She never seemed rushed even though I never saw her sit down in my 6 1/2 hours there! She was attentive and caring. All the nurses were working together as a team and it was lovely to see. I had a great experience and was well taken care of.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
The care I received from start to end was exceptional. Margaret and Louisa were pleasant and very nice. They went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and remained informed and updated. I believe Jennifer was the nurse who checked me out and she was also very nice. Thank you to the entire team! I appreciate you.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
My care was amazing. Nurse Margaret put me at ease immediately. Robin placed my IV flawlessly. Both nurses made me laugh and forget about the surgery for a little bit. My PACU nurse (I don’t remember her name since I was still under anesthesia) was amazing as well. Thank you Dr. Ajao and team. Everyone was great.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
The nurse that was in the room with me when I did the stress test was so patient, friendly and accommodating. He answered all my questions. I felt very, very comfortable, more comfortable than I’ve ever felt in any hospital. They explained things, they didn’t rush me. He gave me a blanket because I always felt cold and I just think that he did a phenomenal job and you need more nurses like him in your facility. He was amazing. The doctors were amazing and I just can’t say enough.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I have had only exceptional care as a patient in the pain management center. The nurses are caring and are understanding. Their nursing technical care is outstanding. The physician (a fellow training in anesthesiology) was patient and very personable. I had pain that was severe enough to confine me to bed the day before the appointment. Within two to three days, I was feeling a 90 percent pain reduction. It exceeded my expectations but it was not surprising as I have had similar results with Dr. Yong in the past. Dr. Yong, no matter how busy, always takes a few moments to say hello and acknowledge me and give me his full attention and concern. His technical skills are beyond elite. The procedure was careful, smooth and quick. I can’t say enough about how Dr. Yong and his staff (including the wonderful radiology technologists) have positively impacted my quality of life. Thank you and please give positive feedback to the wonderful staff in the pain management center.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
My total experience at BWFH was one of the best I’ve ever had in a hospital. Care, compassion and concern were evident throughout my prep, procedure, recovery and discharge. A most positive experience! I hope I never need another operation or procedure, but if I do, I wouldn’t hesitate to go to BWFH for my care.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
James Manna is a very good therapist. He asks very relevant questions and he explain the exercises very well. It is very easy to work with him. The same applies for the exercises he recommends for home. I’m very glad to find him. I’ll heartily recommend him to my family and friends.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
Any anxiety I had about the procedure was gone upon talking with my nurses and the doctor prior. They were sincere, understanding and above all respectful/professional. I have had bad experiences with both endoscopy and colonoscopies in other health systems and that was discussed. They handled it perfectly. You truly have a great team, from reception to the doctors. Anesthesia was the problem when I had the bad experience in the past. I woke up both times and wasn’t comfortable. Your anesthesiologist also understanding and assured me she would be monitoring me during procedure. I can’t thank them enough for such a positive experience! Please relay my thanks to the team!
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I spent the night in the extended surgical unit in the PACU after my surgery and the nurse, Caroline, was absolutely wonderful, very attentive, very sweet, and very caring.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I can’t complain about anyone on 7 North, from the youngest person to the oldest adult who attended me. They did everything spectacular and they did an excellent job. Whenever they’d walk by, they would greet us with their hands or ask if we needed anything or if we needed any help to use the restroom. It was incredible. They’re excellent. They never left me alone. There was always a doctor. They found me an interpreter so I could speak better and understand what they were trying to tell me. It was spectacular. I was delighted, very delighted.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
All my nurses were awesome, especially Gail in post-op and Jen who took care of me overnight. Also Mary and Kari. Really all of them. But an especially big thank you to Jen. She was unbelievably generous with her time and patience. My wife and I will be eternally grateful for her help. She took very good care of me. She made me feel very comfortable and she obviously cares about her patients. She made a very difficult time in our lives much better.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
All personnel listened to my concerns, answered my questions and treated me with dignity and respect. All aspects of the process (including admission, pre- and post-procedure and discharge) were timely and efficient. Thank you all for your professionalism and a job well done!
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
Overall I had a very positive experience getting surgery at BWFH. The surgical team was wonderful and explained everything very clearly. The anesthesiologist was great about making me feel more relaxed going into the surgery. But most especially, I have massive gratitude towards my post-op nurse who helped coax me out of a panic attack, which are very common for me. The experience overall has made me much less fearful of possible future surgeries.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I was pleased my doctor suggested I go to BWFH because I was told by my doctor that it would be excellent care and “you’ll get through it quickly.” And both were true. So I very much appreciated BWFH for having taken care of me in this serious situation. Thank you.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
My experience with the staff for my surgery was that they were nothing short of absolutely mind-blowing amazing. They were incredible. I don’t even know where to begin to start to thank them for everything they did, the way they took care of me. Dr. Chen and her staff, they all did awesome. Great job. I’m feeling great and I can’t thank you enough.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
Mary D. was a wonderful nurse provider who put me at easy instantly. She was extremely caring, nurturing and supportive throughout the infusion process. She was clearly mindful of me having the most comfortable experience possible. Thank you, Mary!
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
Dr. Preston and his team (nurses, anesthesiologists, etc.) were all A+. I never felt rushed or neglected. Everyone was very kind and friendly. Makes a huge difference. Thank you.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I received excellent care. The nurses were fabulous. The hospital was clean and my family was treated with respect. I definitely would recommend BWFH for any other hospital stay. Loved the nurses. Loved the physicians there. Everyone was awesome. Thank you.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
EVERYONE was AMAZING. From the nurses to the support staff, it didn’t matter who I saw or dealt with. Everyone, no matter how busy they were, treated you like you were their only patient. Everyone supported and helped. The staff is awesome.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
The nurses were exceptional. Always willing to help and listen. The doctors were thorough and accommodating. The support staff was great too.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
In my 70 years, I have experienced several surgeries and procedures, some of which were positive and some of which were negative. I have only experienced PERFECT care at BWFH (and I do not use the word “perfect” ever). Every single person who was connected to my care during my three surgeries and numerous tests at BWFH was intelligent, caring, knowledgeable, professional, respectful, empathetic, kind. From the receptionists to the surgeons, from the fabulous pre- and post-op nurses to the educated and interesting orderly who wheeled me out, every single person made every effort to make my experience better than imagined. Keep it up please, even as you grow bigger and bigger. You make me want to stay in this area!!
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
Every single person that I encountered during my visit was incredible, courteous, and kind. My surgeon, Dr. Ajao and his fellow, Dr. Chatroux, talked to me with respect, explained everything fully before the surgery, and made me feel more confident about the procedure. The anesthesia team, Dr. Negroiu and team, discussed the procedure with me, listened to my thoughts, and reassured me about the process before the procedure. The surgical nurse, Elizabeth, also discussed everything with me beforehand and made me feel much better about the procedure. And, the team of nurses and aides that helped me before and after the surgery were exceptional. Maureen was my nurse when I arrived and she was kind and patient and helped me to feel more at ease before the procedure. She made me laugh and helped me feel calm, and gave me the encouragement to feel ready for the procedure. After my surgery I had Cathy (apologies if I got her name wrong, I was a bit groggy) and was aided by Antonia. Cathy was incredibly sweet and caring and took great care of me during my recovery period. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful and quick to see how they could help me to feel more comfortable. Another person helped me to my car and I really enjoyed our conversation about travel and their home of Morocco. It all made me feel so much better as I started to feel more awake. I can’t speak highly enough of the entire team that I encountered at BWFH. They made my surgery smooth and easy and made me feel at ease, and I really appreciate every single one.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
On the occasions that I have needed the ER, I travel to the facilities at BWFH, because of the professional care and treatment that I have received there in the past. And this occasion was no different for I received quick, wonderful, attention. I would like to give a shout out to my entire care team for making a yucky situation tolerable.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
We had an excellent experience at BWFH. The nurses were above and beyond and so experienced and caring and kind. And the facility itself was perfect. Parking was easy. It made the whole experience a lot better. I can’t say enough about Eileen in the PACU and in pre-op. And we just had such a good experience.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I am sure that it helped that the doctor that was familiar with my case informed the Emergency Department that I was to be expected. I have never been seen so quickly with perfection and professionalism. My family members and myself were kept well informed and commended for calling and bringing me in for emergency treatment.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
Excellent care by a kind, professional medical and nursing staff across the board. The level of expertise was obvious to me and very much put me at ease as did the kind caring manner of the nurses in particular. Have had this procedure with Dr. Ben Smith at BWFH for several years, I highly recommend him, the staff and the facility.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
My experience in the radiology department was absolutely 100% perfect. I would certainly go back again. The resident and the doctor and the nurse were all attentive, explained everything, and it was a very good experience. Thank you.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I thought my Physical Therapist, Kristen Benya, was excellent. She was thoughtful, respectful, very knowledgeable and highly instructive about the exercises and the rationale for their effectiveness. Her personality and her realistic positivity made the experience very helpful, and I felt more optimistic about improvement.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
The seventh floor nurses and staff were absolutely amazing. And Owen, who was my nurse for a lot of the time, went above and beyond in every aspect of making sure that I was comfortable receiving the right medication and being cared for at all times. And everyone else on the floor was just as kind and caring. It was a really super great experience and a wonderful hospital to be at and be treated. And thank you so much. And Dr. Simpson was just amazing.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I was very pleased and comforted by the care and attention that I received by the team during my pre-op, as well as the care I received in recovery. I felt as though each person gave their full attention in supporting my needs. I was very pleased with my doctor, anesthesiologist and the entire team who attended to me. I would truly offer words of appreciation for the BWFH team.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
You have an absolutely amazing staff in your ED. Very attentive and very caring. I want to thank all of you for making me feel so welcomed, and for taking such good care of me. And Annmarie and Erin, my social workers, played a major part in communicating with my daughters. Thank you all again.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I have always received the best care from BWFH. This surgery was no different. From the secretaries and receptionists to the nurses and operating room nurse, I was comfortable and well taken care of. All introduced themselves, explained their roles, and answered any questions I may have had. They made sure after surgery that I was comfortable and not in any pain. They explained what to do when recuperating at home. I received instructions that my son, sister, and I could understand. I received a call from a nurse a few days after to see how I was doing, and she asked all pertinent questions to determine where I was at with my recovery. I would wholeheartedly recommend BWFH to anyone.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I get claustrophobic and the technologist really helped me get through it. She explained everything about the procedure and about the machine and it just made me feel a lot better and she was very encouraging. So you guys are great.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I would not go to any other facility. I’ve been going to BWFH for the last maybe 20 years and I have to travel quite a long ways but it is worth it. It’s worth that peace of mind. Your staff is exceptional. If I could give them a raise, I would. They have always treated me with dignity. They’re just exceptional people. I tell everybody, even my doctor. I’ve convinced for her to go to BWFH, no other place.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I thought the radiology tech, I think her name is Julia, was amazing. She was really friendly, very informative, very patient, very descriptive. She just did an all-around great job and was very efficient and respectful of my time, especially, which was really great because I wanted to make sure that I could get in and out as quickly as possible for my business. She was also really good about setting expectations, especially since the test required no eating before and I was pretty hungry and I also wanted some caffeine, so she was really good about setting realistic expectations about how long the procedure would take and when I’d be able to eat.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
Nurse Josh in the emergency room was so kind and understanding and very relaxed with me. Made me feel comfortable. And he really knows how to do an IV without making me feel like a pin cushion. He was very attentive and just an all-around fabulous nurse. And I asked if he ever wanted to be a doctor. He said he preferred being a nurse.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
Whenever I have gone to BWFH, I have been treated with a lot of professionalism, appreciation, and above all, they make you feel like you are deserving of the special attention the staff provides. It is the same attention they give with a lot of care. Thank you, BWFH, for your special attention to us, the patients.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
That was the fastest emergency room visit I’ve ever had in my life. I broke the record. I was there for like 15 minutes. You guys are the fastest and the best hospital in the world.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I just want to let you guys know that the anesthesiologist is the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had multiple surgeries. I woke up not feeling groggy and not feeling the effects of the anesthesia, so they did an excellent job.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I just wanted to thank all the nurses/doctors involved with my visit. I am terrified of needles and had to get a blood draw. I was there by myself because I didn’t have anyone who could come with me, and the nurses were so incredibly kind to me. Especially the one who did the labs (I am sorry that I cannot remember her name). She was so kind and compassionate to me and I appreciate her more than I can express. I felt so well cared for here. I was seen very quickly and my care team was extremely prompt and knowledgeable. Listened to me better than any other ER docs/nurses have at other hospitals.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
The infusion nurses at BWFH are just the best. I saw Mary this visit and she was beyond just great. Ginny manages a wonderful team.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I had a fantastic meeting with Stefanie O’Connor, LDN. She shared valuable insights on meal planning and creating a balanced diet for a healthier lifestyle. I’ve already started implementing many of her suggestions, and we plan to follow up later to assess progress.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional care I received during my recent surgery. From the moment I arrived, the professionalism and compassion from Dr. Mould and her team put me at ease. Each member of your team played a vital role in making the experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. I truly appreciate the thorough explanations and the time you took to answer my questions. Every member of the team was amazing, from check in to the nurses to anesthesia to Dr. Mould. Thanks for your skill and dedication, and for your outstanding care!
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
Nurse Joanne in the ER Observation Unit was incredibly kind and caring, and made sure that I understood all discharge instructions clearly. All of the staff had exceptional bedside manor, in addition to displaying competence and professionalism. I experienced a very scary medical situation for the first time in my life, and all of the staff in the ER/ER Observation Unit made me feel safe and very well cared for.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I’m very impressed with how efficient things run there. I’ve been going to BWFH for close to 25 years my annual exam. And in like the last five years, it has gotten so efficient. I’m in and out of there so quickly. I’m just really pleased.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I’d like to extend a hearty thank you to the entire staff of BWFH. Everyone was very thoughtful and kind in the emergency room and in my hospital room as well. Everyone took it upon themselves to check in on me and consider my welfare, as well as the other patients in the wing. I would certainly recommend this hospital as top notch.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I have to say, heading to the ER is the last thing I ever want to do, particularly on a beautiful summer weekend day. But, if I had to go (which I did), I couldn’t have asked for a nicer experience. Everyone seemed to a). love their job; and b). care for the patients. I was actually blown away by how strongly the positive culture came through. I was in the waiting room and saw a nurse (Ben, who ended up being my nurse) come through the doors for his shift totally upbeat and happy to be at work (he later told me how much he loved his job). From there, everything stayed consistent. Both doctors were kind and communicative, the x-ray and ultrasound experience was equally positive, with information on what to expect in terms of timing of the results. The ward got a bit noisy with some patients and Ben came over to apologize and give me some ginger ale. I don’t usually want to fill out surveys but jumped at the chance to fill this one out due to the consistency of the experience excellence. Kudos on a great job—keep it up and please thank the team. I should also add that scheduling with the orthopedics group for a follow-up visit was also really positive. The receptionist was kind and empathetic, even thinking about rush hour in scheduling my follow up appointment. Thank you so much for the excellent care. I very rarely interact with the medical system, so was pleasantly surprised at how smooth you all made it for me.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I just want to tell you this was one of the best medical experiences ever. I’m actually a doctor as well, this time I was a patient. And it was easy to get to, the parking was easy, everything was easy. The facility was beautiful, nice and clean. They saw me on time. The technicians, Rick and Ricky, were absolutely great, very welcoming and professional and capable. And I just can’t say enough good about the whole experience. So if I ever need another one, I will try to schedule at BWFH. And I just want to thank you very much for all that.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
This was the most enjoyable doctors experience I’ve had in a long time. The office is open with a beautiful view. Check in was clear and easy. My appointment was on time and the practitioner clearly knew what she needed to capture in imaging and communicated that effectively to me. I wish all my appointments were this smooth
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
The overnight unit (for just one night) was set up wonderfully with easy access to nurses and staff. I was so pleased with being able to get immediate attention rather than being off in a private room where I might have been ignored. This is a great model in place and it made me feel comfortable and seen! BWFH made a pretty traumatic event in my life much easier to deal with than I had imagined! Thank you for the thoughtfulness behind my care.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
The nurse who attended to me in the morning before discharge was extraordinary. She was so efficient at getting everything done, and at the same time so friendly and humorous. My one-night stay at BWFH after surgery was wonderful. My head surgeon, Tim Clinton, and his co-surgeon are also wonderful, and did a great job. My recovery has thus far been quick and easy. I could not be more pleased with the experience.
Dear Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,
I had a wonderful experience at BWFH. The nurses and doctors couldn’t have been more helpful and supportive. I was very nervous about my procedure and they helped me through it by comforting me and listening. I am very grateful to Dr. Shoji and his staff!
