The Department of Food and Nutrition at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital is committed to providing quality food, sound nutritional advice and superior service.
At Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, medical and surgical patients select and request their meals through a program called Room Service DiningSM: an innovative new concept in meal service offering patients more control over what they eat and greater flexibility as to when they eat.
Once a patient's physician has prescribed the diet order, patients are welcome to request cooked to order food at any time during operating hours. Meals are selected from a Room Service DiningSM menu and called in at the patient's convenience. Specific food preferences (e.g., kosher meals, cultural requests, vegetarian meals, etc.) are accommodated assuming they comply with the physician's prescribed diet.
A registered dietitian oversees a patient's nutritional needs during the hospital stay and is available for counseling and follow up appointments regarding nutritional needs after discharge.
