After graduating from Providence College with her bachelor’s degree in Health Policy and Management this spring, Caitlin Parrott joined the Department of Patient Safety, Quality, Infection Control and Accreditation at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital as Patient Safety Project Coordinator. In the past, Parrott has interned at Kent Hospital in patient experience.
Parrott says of her decision to major in Health Policy and Management, “Through my coursework and my own experience with the healthcare system, I became interested in quality improvement, patient experience and patient safety.”
At BWFH, Parrott is the go-to person for everything related to RL Solutions, the hospital’s patient safety reporting system. She is also responsible for publishing Last Week in Patient Safety! each week. While she is still learning her role, she says she enjoys working with so many different people throughout the hospital and attending the various committee meetings.
So far, she is thrilled with her decision to join the team. Parrott says, “The department has been so nice and welcoming and I feel like I am really contributing to keeping patients safe. I am so happy to be working in such a great organization and I’m learning a lot about the inner workings of a hospital.”
Parrott currently lives in Wilmington and has a twin brother. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with friends, exploring the outdoors and trying restaurants.
