New stand-up floor scrubber helps Environmental Services staff work more efficiently

At Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, the cleanliness of our hospital is the responsibility of all of us. But it is the housekeeping staff in the Environmental Services Department that does the heavy lifting—polishing floors, preparing patient rooms and so much more. A new tool, the Clarke SA40 stand up scrubber, is making it possible for them to work more efficiently.

Uniquely designed for a space of this size, the Clarke SA40 stand up scrubber allows for reliable cleaning performance from a flexible, maneuverable and compact machine. With a rechargeable battery and large cleaning solution tank, it delivers 75 minutes of scrub time without refilling, meaning the housekeeping staff can clean more in a shorter amount of time.

Environmental Services Manager Alex Soto says the new scrubber is great for his staff, but also for patients. “The design allows them to scrub the floors much faster and it makes much less noise than the push model we had been using. This means patients, as well as their care teams, are not disturbed by the cleaning process.”
