Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital received approval for the Determination of Need (DoN) submission in May 2022 to begin working on a campus expansion program to better support care in our communities. Construction began in May of 2023.

Hillside Garage
Inside the garage, crews are still reviewing a punch list of remaining items that need attention. The site fence for the garage will be removed by Dec. 17.

January 2025: Demolition of the existing garage begins.
Inpatient Addition
Work is progressing for the inpatient addition. Please see the following updates for work taking place within hospital spaces from Dec. 16–27:
First-floor Radiology active spaces:
Shutdown of Radiology east corridor, phase 1, Monday–Friday, 8 p.m.–6 a.m. Access to IN/IR control room and Trophon room will be maintained.
Dec. 9–20: MRI/staff lounge renovations will continue.
On Saturday, Dec. 7 at 11 p.m., the MRI will be ramped down for Quench Vent modifications to be made at the Inpatient Roof on Sunday, Dec. 18 (There will not be work within the MRI area during the roof work).
There will also be modifications made within CT-1 on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 6 a.m. to noon. This work has been coordinated with Radiology, Siemens and EVS. The Quench Vent is scheduled to be ramped up by Siemens at noon on Sunday, Dec. 8.
Second-floor Radiology active spaces:
Mechanical room (north --- future fire pump room), fire pump room construction ongoing.
Continued use of hospital loading dock.
Third-floor Cafeteria:
Construction of the existing seating area continues (third floor).
Fourth and fifth floors:
Taping and sanding of drywall and painting walls for the new spaces.
Exterior site work
Fire Hydrant install test pit will take place on Dec. 14 (install will be week of Dec. 16 during the third shift).
Sidewalk prep and landscaping.
Partial road obstruction will occur for low voltage pull to island at main entrance, as well as lift at corner of the construction site for exterior soffit installation on Dec. 17.
New MRI delivery will occur on Dec. 17.
Interior work within inpatient additions
First Floor: MEP finishes and ceiling grid.
Second Floor: MEP finishes and ceiling work, as well as several punch list items.
Third, Fourth and Fifth Floors: Cleaning, wall protection and millwork.
MEP work on all floors.
Mechanical Penthouse flooring.
Future work
The flooring in the corridor outside Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy will be replaced the weekend of Jan. 18, 2025.
