Christina Minami, MD, MFA, MS, recently joined Brigham Health as an attending surgeon in the Division of Breast Surgery. She will operate at both Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Dr. Minami studied English and American Literature and Language at Harvard University before attending the David Geffen School of Medicine. She also holds an MFA in fiction from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and an MS in health services and outcomes research from Northwestern University. She completed her residency in general surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine followed by a fellowship in breast surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She is board certified in general surgery.
On her OR days here at BWFH, Dr. Minami will perform lumpectomy, total/skin-sparing/nipple-sparing mastectomies, sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary lymph node dissection. She says she is looking forward to working closely with the BWFH team. “I am excited to work with this fantastic group of OR staff and for the opportunity to provide the best patient care possible in a supportive and efficient environment.”
When she is not at work, Dr. Minami enjoys hiking, running, reading and writing fiction.
