New attending physician to operate at BWFH

Dr. Megan McDowell recently joined Brigham Health as an attending surgeon in the Department of OB/GYN in the Brigham Obstetrics and Gynecology Group. She sees patients in clinic at 850 Boylston and Foxboro and operates at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital and Foxboro.

Dr. McDowell comes to Brigham Health from Tampa, Florida. She received her undergraduate degree in Biological Engineering at the University of Florida and her medical degree at Florida State University. She then completed her residency training at the University of South Florida, where she also served as Administrative Chief Resident. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

“I am looking forward to operating at BWFH,” she says. “Here I will perform hysteroscopies, dilation and curettage, endometrial ablations and laparoscopic procedures including cystectomies, fulguration and removal of endometriosis and hysterectomies.”

Dr. McDowell has a special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and looks forward to working closely with the staff at BWFH to provide the least invasive gynecologic treatment for patients in the Boston area.

She relocated to Massachusetts with her husband, an adolescent medicine fellow at Boston Children’s Hospital, and their chocolate Labrador, Gaines.
