Meet BWFH’s new PGY-1 pharmacy residents!

As part of Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s ongoing commitment to training the next generation of caregivers, the Pharmacy participates in a PGY-1 residency program. We are pleased to welcome this year’s residents—Gabriella Torres and Melanie Nguyen.

Gabriella Torres

Gabriella Torres, PharmD, graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University in 2023. “I’m excited for the opportunity to work alongside and learn from the exceptional group of pharmacists here at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital,” she says. “I’m hoping to build on my foundation of knowledge from pharmacy school and adapt into a well-rounded pharmacist.”

Melanie Nguyen

Melanie Nguyen, PharmD, also graduated from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University in 2023. She says of her residency experience, “I hope to strengthen my clinical knowledge and make a meaningful impact in the community and on patient care as a whole.”

The PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program is a twelve-month program designed to build on Doctor of Pharmacy education to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification and for PGY-2 pharmacy residency training.
