Michael Groff, MD, Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs for the Department of Neurosurgery and Director of the Neurosurgical Spine Service, was elected Vice Chair of the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF) and was appointed to foundation’s board of directors in recognition of his exceptional leadership and expertise in neurosurgery.
In his clinical work at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Dr. Groff provides comprehensive spine care, with specialized focus on spinal oncology and complex cervical spine disorders. As a researcher, his areas of interest include process improvement, health services research, outcome measures and guideline development.
Established in 1980 by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), the NREF is a nonprofit organization supporting research and education efforts that enhance and confirm the critical role neurosurgeons play in improving lives.
