General Surgery Service named in honor of Dr. Pardon Kenney

Recently, at a special dinner attended by Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital Leadership and Chiefs, Dr. Pardon Kenney was honored for his 30 years of service as Chief of Surgery. The highlight of the evening came when a proclamation was read, naming the General Surgery Service in honor of Dr. Kenney.

The proclamation reads:

In honor of Dr. Pardon Kenney for his many years of service to our patients and their families, for his tireless efforts to teach and train the next generation of physicians and his unwavering commitment to our staff and institution, it is our great privilege to announce that, as of February 13, 2020, the General Surgery Service at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital shall now be known as The Kenney Service.

Dr. Kenney, who was accompanied by his wife Kendra, was clearly moved by the honor. “At Brigham and Women's Hospital, there is a tradition of naming the various surgery services after former chairs of surgery. These surgeons have been an integral part of the history of American surgery, and are recognized as true giants in the field.” says Dr. Kenney. “To be included in this group is truly humbling. I cannot express how incredible it feels to be in such mighty company.”
