The Facilities Department at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital recently welcomed Emily Jenkins to the newly created role of Project Manager. Reporting to Executive Director of Facilities and Support Services Ed Pitts, CHFM, CLSS-HC, she will be working on a number of building and renovation plans that will better support the day-to-day operations of the hospital, both from an administrative and clinical standpoint.
Jenkins, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from UMass Amherst, comes to BWFH from Fort Point Project Management. There she worked as a consultant for the past seven years, providing facility support services to various clients. “I’ve supported client’s facilities and real estate teams, by providing day-to-day project management and space planning support,” she says of her previous role.
However, when the opportunity presented itself to work in-house in a hospital rather than as a consultant, Jenkins jumped at it. “I’m excited to build on what I have been doing for the last seven years and focus on one organization,” she says.
After just a few days on the job, Jenkins says she is thrilled with her decision to join the team at BWFH. She says, “Already I am finding out that the hospital environment is very different from the corporate environment. Everyone seems happy to be a part of this team and is focused on providing the highest level of patient care.”
Outside of work, Jenkins enjoys travelling, taking spin classes and being outside exploring parks and the city. She also enjoys working with both photography and graphic design.
