Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery welcomes new attending surgeon

Tom Tsai, MD, MPH

Thomas Tsai, MD, MPH, recently joined Brigham Health’s Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery as an attending surgeon.

Dr. Tsai studied as an undergraduate at Harvard College, before attending medical school at Stanford University. He earned his MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Tsai completed a residency in general surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a fellowship in advanced minimally invasive gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is board certified in general surgery.

In the operating room at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, in addition to general surgery, Dr. Tsai will be performing laparoscopic and robotic bariatric surgery, complex abdominal wall reconstruction and anti-reflux surgery. He has a special interest in the surgical and endoscopic management of GERD and achalasia.

Dr. Tsai says he is looking forward to his time at BWFH. “I am excited to be joining a team dedicated to improving the lives of our patients in the greater Boston community,” he says.

Outside of work, Dr. Tsai enjoys fly fishing and spending time with his wife and young daughter.
