The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital Blood Mobile―the traveling extension of the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center―recently visited Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital giving employees and members of the community the opportunity to give blood to support patients undergoing cancer treatments, accident victims, transplant recipients and more.
At the event, coordinated by Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Community Health and Wellness Assistant Katie Plante, 17 donors volunteered yielding 14 units of blood. Those who donated were treated to a Kraft Family Blood Donor Center mini lantern as a thank you gift.
“It’s a busy time of year for everyone, but our BWFH staff was generous with their time as always,” says Plante. “I am grateful for the those who were able to take time out of their day for this important cause.”
If you missed your chance to donate blood this time, don’t worry. The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital Blood Mobile will return to BWFH in January!
