The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital Blood Mobile―the traveling extension of the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center―recently visited Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital giving employees and members of the community the opportunity to give blood to support patients undergoing cancer treatments, accident victims, transplant recipients and more.
At the event, coordinated by Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Community Health and Wellness Assistant Katie Plante, 28 donors volunteered yielding 27 units of blood. Those who donated were treated to a “Volunteerism” t-shirt as a thank you gift.
“BWFH staff is consistently generous with their time, and the blood drive here has been so successful thanks to that generosity,” says Plante.
If you missed your chance to donate blood this time, don’t worry. The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Brigham and Women’s Hospital Blood Mobile will return to BWFH on October 23!
