On Wednesday, May 29, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital will convert its large-volume infusion pumps to the new Baxter Spectrum IQ pump. The new pump is being rolled out in phases throughout other Partners institutions. Transitioning to one large-volume infusion pump for the Partners enterprise is an important step toward the system’s goal of wireless integration with Partners eCare.
Training
Staff who use large-volume infusion pumps, including nurses and members of the Department of Anesthesiology, will receive training between May 20 and May 24. Biomedical Engineering will receive training on troubleshooting. Impacted staff will be scheduled for their 30-minute training by their directors. Super user trainings will be 45 minutes in length. Drop-in sessions are not available. If you have questions about the schedule, please speak with your director or supervisor.
Staff from Environmental Services, Central Transport and Infection Control will also receive information pertaining to the processes of cleaning and transporting the new pumps.
