Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members from all areas of the hospital who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Infectious Diseases Raul Santiago, PharmD, BCPS, was a recent recipient of an I CARE Award in recognition of his ongoing efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Santiago was nominated for his I CARE Award by his colleague Meaghan Watson. In her nomination letter, she wrote:
Raul has done extravagant work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and taken it all in stride. He is our infectious disease pharmacist, so he is constantly working to keep us all informed and up to date as the information about the virus progresses. In addition to this, Raul is often contacted after hours for assistance related to infectious diseases and COVID-19. More recently, he has been called at home several times by colleagues in the pharmacy, as well as the infectious disease doctors to assist with monoclonal antibodies and figuring out which patients qualify and are best suited to receive these treatments. He has done all of this without complaint and is always available and willing to help us all. He continues to go above and beyond, and it is very much appreciated.
Do you know a BWFH employee who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate BWFH’s I CARE Standards? To nominate a fellow colleague for an I CARE Award, please visit BWFHconnect. A team of colleagues will personally recognize the employee by presenting them with balloons, a thank you card and a gift certificate redeemable in the cafeteria or Atrium Café.
