Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital orthopaedic surgeon Antonia Chen, MD, MBA, along with her Brigham colleague Andrew Schoenfeld, MD, was recently selected to host the “Your Case Is On Hold” podcast by the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery (JBJS).
“Your Case Is On Hold” offers insights into the latest clinical and research studies in orthopaedics. In each episode, Drs. Chen and Schoenfeld discuss the scientific articles in each issue of JBJS, adding doses of entertainment and pop culture.
Dr. Chen serves as Director of Research in Arthroplasty Services for Brigham and Women’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Her clinical interests include arthritis treatments, knee and hip replacement surgery patient optimization and periprosthetic joint infection treatment. She is also a deputy editor at JBJS, a valued source of information for orthopaedic surgeons and researchers for over 125 years. The journal is considered to be the gold standard in peer-reviewed scientific information in the field. A core journal and essential reading for general as well as specialist orthopaedic surgeons worldwide, JBJS publishes evidence-based research to enhance the quality of care for orthopaedic patients.
For Dr. Chen, the opportunity to host “Your Case Is On Hold” has been quite enjoyable. “It’s been surprisingly fun making research more relatable, as we banter about scientific merit and methodology while incorporating pop culture,” she says.
