Vivek Shah, MD, comes to Brigham Health from New England Baptist Hospital where he practiced for the last five years. He has been named Director of Outpatient Arthroplasty at Brigham Health and recently began operating at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.
At BWFH, Dr. Shah will perform total hip arthroplasty (both anterior and posterior), total knee arthroplasty and partial knee replacements with a focus on outpatient total joints. “I look forward to collaborating with Dr. Wolfgang Fitz. He and I will be working on care pathways to safely discharge patients home on the day of surgery. I am also looking forward to working with BWFH staff to create a great experience for our total joint arthroplasty patients,” says Dr. Shah of his new role.
Dr. Shah studied medicine at Georgetown University and Tufts University Schools of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Tufts Medical Center before completing a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at New England Baptist Hospital. Dr. Shah is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
