BWFH welcomes new Director of Environmental Services and Central Patient Transport

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital recently welcomed Mark Neill, MBA, CHESP, to the role of Director of Environmental Services and Central Patient Transport.

Neill, who holds a BA in Political Science from Providence College and an MBA in Management from Bryant University, comes to BWFH with more than 30 years of experience in Environmental Services. In previous roles, he was part of the Partners HealthCare family as Director of Environmental Services at Spaulding Hospital Cambridge from 2012 to 2017. Most recently, he served as Facilities Director of Environmental Services for Aramark Healthcare.

When the opportunity to take on a new role at BWFH presented itself, Neill knew it would be a good fit. “I knew I wanted to get back into the Partners systems,” he says. “But I also knew I really liked BWFH. My wife was a neurosurgery patient at one point and we were very happy with the treatment she received here. It was a really positive experience for us and that was a big part of the appeal of this role.”

Neill has spent his first few weeks on the job in the throes of COVID-19 preparation. “It is strange to start a new job and not be able to meet everyone in person,” he says, but he’s been able to get to know his staff and how the department operates. “We have a lot of great people on the team, but we can enhance the appearance of the building through further training and acquisition of some new equipment.”

When he is not at work, Neill enjoys spending time with his wife of 35 years, a nurse who he met while working at Miriam Hospital early in his career, his grown children, both of whom work in healthcare, and his Labrador retriever.
