BWFH welcomes new Project Manager for Infection Control and Clinical Compliance

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital recently welcomed Bettina (Tina) Noel in the role of Project Manager for Infection Control and Clinical Compliance. She will work closely with Associate Hospital Epidemiologist Roger Clark, DO, and report directly to Director of Infection Control, Clinical Compliance and Patient Safety Andrea Shellman, MHSA, CPPS.

Noel is a recent graduate of UMass Amherst where she studied General Biology with the original intent to attend medical school. After completing several internships at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and working as a medical assistant over the summer, she made the decision to shift her focus. “I have a lot of clinical experience, but I realized I’m more interested in the administrative and business side of healthcare,” she says. “I’m really grateful for this role, because I’m learning so much and I love the work that my team is doing.”

In her first few weeks at BWFH, Noel has been busy learning the hand hygiene auditing process, rounding with Infection Preventionist Margaret Holmes, MSPH, CIC, and preparing to help support the Infection Control, Clinical Compliance and Patient Safety team with our upcoming Joint Commission survey.

So far, Noel says she is thrilled with her decision to begin her career at BWFH. “Everyone has been so nice and willing to answer my questions,” she says. “It’s a small community, which is really nice when you are just starting out.”

When she is not at work, Noel enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants and travel. Born in Haiti, she has witnessed the toll healthcare disparity can take and is eager to make a difference as she embarks on her career.
