BWFH President David O. McCready, MBA, MPH, accepted the 100 Year Anniversary recognition from AHA Regional Executive Jack Barry
The American Hospital Association (AHA), founded in 1898, is the national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, healthcare networks and their patients and communities. Nearly 5,000 hospitals, healthcare systems, networks, other providers of care and 43,000 individual members come together to form the AHA. Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital has been among those members for 100 years.
At a special recognition event held recently during the Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association (MHA) Annual Meeting in Chatham, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital was honored for its long-standing membership. BWFH is one of just seven hospitals to make up the first group of members to have reached this milestone this year.
At the event, BWFH President David O. McCready, MBA, MPH, accepted the award on behalf of the hospital. “The AHA has a long history of representing and advocating for members of the healthcare community. They ensure their members' perspectives and needs are heard and addressed in national health policy development, legislative and regulatory debates and judicial matters,” he says. “At BWFH, we are very proud to have been a part of the AHA for so long. It’s truly an honor to be recognized among the other six 100-year members.”
