Anthony Guidi, MD, will become the next Chief of Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, effective August 1, 2022. This will be an expanded role for Dr. Guidi, as he will also continue to serve as the Chair of the Department of Pathology at Newton-Wellesley Hospital—a role that he has held for the last 12 years.
Dr. Guidi received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Prior to his time at NWH, Dr. Guidi served in a number of leadership roles at Salem Hospital, as well as holding hospital appointments at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Mass General Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He is a member of the College of American Pathologists, the New England Society of Pathologists, the Massachusetts Society of Pathologists, the Massachusetts Medical Society and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. He also serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Pathology at Tufts University School of Medicine.
At BWFH, Dr. Guidi will provide oversight of all clinical labs including anatomic pathology, clinical laboratory and the blood bank. He will work closely with hospital leadership to ensure appropriate lab staffing, maintenance and replacement of equipment as necessary, and adherence to all regulatory requirements to maintain certifications, accreditations and operations. Dr. Guidi will also work closely with his counterparts at BWH to create a regular Pathology Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Conference, in addition to developing a Pathology Oversight Committee.
