BWFH employees honored with Pillars of Excellence Awards

At Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Pillars of Excellence Award ceremony, held virtually again this year, those staff members who go above and beyond were honored for their commitment to our patients, their families and each other. This year, five individuals and three teams from BWFH received Pillars of Excellence Awards.

Nominated by their colleagues, Pillars of Excellence Award winners are recognized for the significant contributions they make in the areas of:

• Commitment to an Exceptional Patient Experience – providing quality, coordinated and compassionate care
• Collaborating Across the System –working across multiple institutions/functions to advance system strategic priorities and bring new value to patients
• Optimizing Teamwork – building partnerships among individuals and within departments to meet shared objectives
• Integrating Diversity, Equity & Inclusion – engaging each other with intention and enriching our work environment 
• Enhancing Efficiency – achieving outstanding outcomes with resourceful approaches
• Advancing Innovation & Progress – leading the development and implementation of new ideas
• Fostering Community – improving the health and well-being of our colleagues and neighbors

During the prerecorded award ceremony, officiated by Executive Director of Human Resources Laura Barnett, President David O. McCready praised this year’s winners. “Warmest congratulations to all of this year’s Pillars of Excellence Award recipients, and thank you for your service to Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. This award has been a special honor from our healthcare system for decades because each person and group receiving an award today has been nominated by their peers. That means that those you work with every day believe in you and want to recognize you for the wonderful, caring work you do here at Faulkner,” he said. “Each of the recipients today, along with the entire Faulkner community, all share one common characteristic: delivering amazing patient-centered care to everyone who comes through our doors.”
