BWFH employee completes Green Belt from Six Sigma Global Institute

Tyler Salley, Ambulatory Project Coordinator at BWFH, just completed her Green Belt certification from the Six Sigma Global Institute.

The Green Belt certification is a ­­­self-paced course that culminates in an exam. A person who is certified in Green Belt is trained in performance and process improvement methods. Salley said she decided to take this course to expand her career portfolio, as well as continue career development and advancement in healthcare administration and leadership.

It is extremely helpful in her day to day life at work. She explains, “The course helps me identify what exactly is going on and how to troubleshoot and provide resolution in order to fix or resolve an operational deficiency or delay, to make the process more efficient.” Salley stated she has already been able to apply some techniques from the course while creating a process map for a recent project.

Salley received her undergraduate degree in Health Science at the University of Hartford and then received her Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of New Haven. In 2018 she began working at BWFH in her current role. Her job responsibilities include strategic implementation and program planning - working in ambulatory areas including Outpatient Infusion Center, Pain Management Center, Endoscopy, and various other departments.

She says, “It is really great to have the whole team come together as one where we all share that common goal of getting the program up and running. And having it come into fruition is one of the greatest and most satisfying things.”
