Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital recently earned renewed accreditation from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), in partnership with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). BWFH again holds Comprehensive Center accreditation.
“Once again earning MBSAQIP accreditation underscores our commitment to providing and supporting quality improvement and patient safety efforts for metabolic and bariatric surgery patients,” says Susan Dempsey, Vice President of Clinical Services.
In order to achieve this accreditation, BWFH was recently surveyed by MBSAQIP. During the survey, the hospital was charged with demonstrating how we meet the needs of our patients by providing multidisciplinary, high-quality, patient-centered care. In order to demonstrate ongoing compliance with MBSAQIP Standards, BWFH will also be required to submit an annual report.
As a result of this accreditation, BWFH’s bariatric program is now listed on the ACS website.
