BWFH's Director of Non-Invasive Testing and active United States Army Reserve Captain Ben Pariser recently nominated his supervisor, Senior Director of Strategic Implementation, Ambulatory and Clinical Program Development Linda Burgoon, for an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve's Patriotic Employer Award.

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, or ESGR, is a Department of Defense program established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment.

The Patriotic Employer Award is given to an employer for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America's National Guard and Reserve Force. It reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed.

Linda was presented with the award during one of BWFH's daily safety huddles in front of her colleagues on the leadership team. "I nominated Linda for the Patriot Award because of all of her support," says Ben. "It's never been a question of "Why do you need to go again?" which can happen in organizations, it's always, "How can I help while you're gone?" and "What do you need when you get back?" So, thank you, Linda."
