Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members from all areas of the hospital who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. Brigham and Women’s Primary Physicians Medical Assistant Tysha Duntin was a recent recipient of an I CARE Award in recognition of her extraordinary care for one of her patients.
Duntin was nominated for her I CARE Award by her colleague Nursing Flow Manager Susan Botsch. In her nomination letter, Botsch wrote:
Tysha is a Medical Assistant here in primary care. She had an elderly patient who needed to go to x-ray. The patient was alone, so Tysha brought the patient to x-ray. A few hours later Tysha walked by x-ray and saw the patient was still in the waiting room. Tysha went in to find out why she was still here. The patient was still waiting for her daughter to pick her up. Tysha brought the patient to the café and used her own money to buy the patient lunch.
Do you know a BWFH employee who has gone above and beyond to demonstrate BWFH’s I CARE Standards? To nominate a fellow colleague for an I CARE Award, please visit BWFHconnect. A team of colleagues will personally recognize the employee by presenting them with balloons, a thank you card and a gift certificate redeemable in the cafeteria or Atrium Café.
