Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Emergency Department is pleased to announce its new Director of Clinical Operations, Alice Bukhman, MD, MPH.
Dr. Bukhman studied Human Biology at Brown University before earning her MPH in Epidemiology at Boston University. She later attended the University of California, San Francisco for medical school. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Boston Medical Center. She has been an attending physician in BWFH’s Emergency Department for three years.
In her new role at BWFH, Dr. Bukhman will continue to see patients clinically and assist with the day-to-day operations of the department. “I will also oversee some of our long-term initiatives, such as the opening of our new observation unit on the fifth floor this summer and the construction of our expanded ED space,” she says.
Dr. Bukhman says she looks forward to working in an expanded role with the Emergency Department team. “I am proud to work at an institution that gives consistently terrific care to our patients, and I am excited to support our team to continue to make BWFH a great place to be a patient and a provider,” she says. “I have felt so supported by the entire Emergency Department staff during my three years of working here. I hope to be able to return the many favors and make the Emergency Department an even more enjoyable place to work for all of our staff.”
When she is not at work, Dr. Bukhman keeps busy with her 7-year-old twins. “We like to run through the green spaces of Boston and find an ocean whenever we have a chance,” she says.
