Mobolaji O. Ajao, MD, MPH, an attending member of the gynecology staff at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, has been named Division Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery for the Brigham family in addition to his role as Fellowship Director for Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Ajao studied medicine at Charles University in Prague and completed his residency in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Mayo Clinic and fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He later earned his MPH in Clinical Effectiveness at Harvard University.
As Division Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, he will oversee the division’s delivery of patient care, trainee education and clinical research. “The mission of the division is to expand access to complex benign gynecologic surgery, with a focus on laparoscopic management of advanced stage endometriosis and fibroids,” he says. “In collaboration with our Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) division, we are establishing two new centers of excellence for these two conditions. This will expand on the prolific research productivity of our division.”
Of this new challenge, Dr. Ajao says, “I am very much looking forward to collaborating across specialties to better serve our most complex patients.”
