A Year of Giving: BWFH raises nearly $2,000 for the Hyde Park Emergency Food Pantry

Last holiday season, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s Community Health and Wellness Department and Cafeteria partnered to place spare change donation jars at the cash registers in the Cafeteria. One year later, the simple project has yielded nearly $2,000 in donations thanks to the generosity of hospital staff, patients and visitors.

“The BWFH community is always willing to help our community,” says Community Health Program Coordinator Katie Plante. “It’s been amazing to see how these small daily acts of giving can add up over the year to be really impactful.”

The funds raised in the jars are donated directory to the Hyde Park Emergency Food Pantry who’s mission it is to provide hunger relief to our neighbors who can’t make ends meet. BWFH has long been involved with the organization, helping to hand out turkeys and Thanksgiving bags.

“The spare change collections jars are just one more small way we can help the Hyde Park Emergency Food Pantry and our community,” says Cafeteria Manager John Dantona.
