Anh Le Nguyen, RN, on 7 North, won tickets to and represented BWFH at Super Bowl LV on February 7, 2021. Nguyen was speechless when she was told she was a winner. “I was shocked, I thought I was dreaming,” she said. “I felt so blessed and lucky.” She is a big Patriots fan and was rooting for Tom Brady: “I love watching American football and have been to Gillette Stadium to watch the Pats, but to have attended the Super Bowl like this was truly once in a lifetime.”
Winners received a hotel stay near Gillette Stadium, a ride on the Patriots plane from Gillette to Tampa for the game, and a gift bag.
Nguyen said the staff at the stadium welcomed them and thanked them for being healthcare heroes. “Everyone was so nice and welcoming that I could see their warm smiles behind the face masks they wore,” she said.
Nguyen wanted particularly to say thank you to her colleagues at BWFH. “Without them I wouldn’t have had this great opportunity. They have risen to face the pandemic and continue to give their best to care for patients,” she said. Nguyen says they have always supported her since day one, and she is proud to call herself a nurse. She also noted how special it was experiencing this with other healthcare workers after the past year.
“It was a perfect day to share and experience with other healthcare workers and one that I will remember for the rest of my life,” she said.
