6 South PCA receives I CARE Award

Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital’s I CARE Award recognizes staff members from all areas of the hospital who go above and beyond their regular job responsibilities to make BWFH a great place to work and receive care. 6 South PCA Chantal Mirambeau was a recent recipient of an I CARE Award.

Mirambeau was nominated for her I CARE Award by 6 South staff nurse Chelsea Diallo. In her nomination letter, Diallo wrote:

I would like to nominate Chantal for an I CARE Award because she has truly set the bar higher than ever before. There are seemingly endless events that I could write about that are deserving of awards, but I’ll just choose one. Chantal is the type of person that is willing to help anyone at any time regardless of the task. She is so incredibly kind and attentive and keeps tabs on all her patients and nurses to maintain the flow and safety of the day. One example is when I, as the nurse, was struggling with three complex patients on my assignment. Although Chantal was not the assigned PCA, she frequently checked in with me to see what she could do to help. At the end of the day when one of the patients needed to be transferred to the ICU, she was the first to step up to help me. Even though it was the end of her shift, she took the time to help me move the patient and cleaned the tele and bed when we returned without being asked. All the while trying to calm myself and the patient. She goes above and beyond to make sure people feel comfortable on the unit. She is a bright face I am so happy to see every 7 am. She is truly incredible, and we are immensely lucky to have her.
