6 South Medical Director receives STRATUS Center Faculty Simulation Educator of the Year Award

Matthew DiFrancesco, Assistant Director for Medicine for the Neil and Elise Wallace STRATUS Center for Medical Simulation and a Hospitalist in the Department of Medicine who serves as Medical Director on 6 South at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, is among the Brigham family physicians who were honored with the 2020–21 Simulation Educator of the Year Awards from the STRATUS Center in recognition of their year-long commitment to creating high-quality, simulation-based courses for trainees, staff and faculty. Dr. DiFrancesco was named Faculty Simulation Educator of the Year.

“I am honored to have been recognized for the educational programming I’ve created alongside the amazing staff at STRATUS and with the help of many of the residents and APPs in the Department of Medicine interested in this innovative form of medical education,” he says of the honor. “I’m excited to keep teaching there and to expand the opportunity to participate at STRATUS to more residents and APPs in the coming months!”
