BWFH Staff Volunteer Opportunities
Community Servings is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program in Jamaica Plain providing services throughout Massachusetts and in Rhode Island to individuals and families living with critical and chronic illnesses. They give their clients, their dependent family members and caregivers appealing, nutritious meals, and send the message to those in greatest need that someone cares.
BWFH staff are invited to volunteer at one of the staff nights coordinated monthly at Community Servings. Staff will prepare meals for critically ill individuals and their families. Volunteers are needed for a three hour shift of peeling, chopping and packaging meals for Community Servings’ clients. Volunteers must be 13 years or older and register in advance. Individuals or groups welcome!

Other Volunteer Opportunities in Our Community
In addition to volunteer opportunities here at BWFH, the following local organizations are often looking for volunteers:
- ETHOS
Volunteers have been a critical component of Ethos’ mission to keep elders living at home with dignity and independence. Each year, over 500 community volunteers contribute over one million dollars’ worth of service with Ethos, visiting elders in their homes, helping with grocery shopping, serving lunch at community cafes, helping with monthly financial management, and so much more!
- Fresh Truck
Hungry to help? We can't do this alone. We need Fresh Truck volunteers, like you, to help make our wheels go round. We are on a mission to bring healthy food to the communities that need it most during the COVID crisis.
- Italian Home for Children
Italian Home for Children welcomes corporations and organizations who want to contribute to our mission. We work closely with these groups to provide quality volunteer opportunities for their employees that are impactful to our work and needs.
- JPNDC (Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation)
