Brigham and Women’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is a medical program designed to assist you in making heart healthy lifestyle choices to lower your risk of heart disease and stroke.
If you have a heart condition, underwent a heart procedure or had a heart attack, ask your doctor about joining cardiac rehabilitation.
Under the direction of Brigham and Women’s cardiologists, the staff includes cardiac nurses, physical therapists/exercise physiologists, and registered dietitians.
Brigham and Women’s Hospital offers you two convenient locations:
- Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain
- BWH Cardiac Rehabilitation Program in Foxborough
Both of these cardiac rehabilitation programs are certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). This certification means that these programs meet or exceed national care standards.
These 10 to 11 week (twice-weekly, two-hour sessions) programs are offered on either Monday/Wednesday or Wednesday/Fridays at a variety of times to suit your schedule.
The program includes weekly monitored exercise sessions tailored to your individual needs, nutrition counseling, health education and a comprehensive stress management program that focuses on learning positive coping skills and relaxation techniques.
A board-certified cardiologist oversees the program, along with our expert team of specialists which includes cardiac nurses, a physical therapist/exercise specialist and a registered dietician.
